Ponte 16 Resort, Macau Celebrates 16th Anniversary
Coinciding with 60th Anniversary of the Sofitel Hotel Brand
“Precious Moment with Ponte 16 Photo Contest” Launched to Commemorate the Occasion
[Macau / Hong Kong, 22 October, 2024] The year 2024 marks the significant milestone for Ponte 16 Resort, Macau (hereinafter “Ponte 16”), as it celebrates its 16th anniversary, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the esteemed Sofitel hotel brand (hereinafter “Sofitel brand”).
A special light-up ceremony (hereinafter the “Ceremony”) was held on 22nd October, 2024 to celebrate these momentous occasions and invite guests to join in the celebration of these dual milestones. The event commenced with the grand illumination of the “16 x 60” installation located at the Outdoor Plaza of Ponte 16, symbolising the profound connection shared between Ponte 16 and the Sofitel brand.
Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), stated: “For 16 years, Ponte 16 has been a cornerstone of the Inner Harbour, driving footfall to the UNESCO Historic Centre of Macau and bringing vitality to local SMEs. In addition, its outdoor plaza was home to numerous events that have become cherished memories for both tourists and residents, adding to the dimensions of cultural and community tourism. Looking to the future, the Ponte 16 waterfront will continue to be central to SJM’s revitalisation of San Ma Lo district. Alongside Kam Pek Market and the distinctive appeal of ‘one river, two banks,’ we aspire to restore the Inner Harbour to its historic splendour.”

To extend the celebratory spirit, Ponte 16 is delighted to launch the “Precious Moment with Ponte 16 Photo Contest” (hereinafter the “Photo Contest”), co-organised with The Photographic Society of Macao. The Photo Contest invites participants to capture and share the essence of Macau, celebrating its rich cultural tapestry and dynamic spirit. This Photo Contest aims to share Macau’s diverse and ever-changing character and promote its vibrant essence to broader audience.
The Photo Contest features both open and aerial categories, with awards including Champion, 1st Runner-Up, 2nd Runner-Up, and 10 Outstanding Prizes. The total prize pool for this exciting contest amounts to MOP100,000.

The Ceremony ends with a delightful live music performance, creating a harmonious atmosphere that intertwined captivating melodies with the celebration. This experience fostered connections among guests, reinforcing the community bonding and joy that defines Ponte 16.
