First 300 visitors to the Opening Ceremony will be offered a limited edition Michael Jackson souvenir

(MACAU, 26 January 2010) - The white rhinestone glove worn by Michael Jackson (“MJ”) for his moonwalk debut and locked in the memories of fans over the world will be a magnet in Macau as the MJ Gallery at Ponte 16 (“The Gallery”) officially opens on 1 February 2010. Worn on the left hand of the pop legend as he performed what was known to be one of recent history’s greatest songs “Billie Jean”, the white glove will be among the 40 plus treasures of the King of Pop to be exhibited together for the first time. To celebrate the Grand Opening of the Gallery which coincides with the 2nd Anniversary of Ponte 16, the first 300 visitors to the Opening Ceremony will be offered a limited edition MJ souvenir.

Ponte 16, a world-class integrated casino-entertainment resort located at the Inner Harbour in Macau, has dedicated a permanent gallery to MJ and his continuing influence on pop music. The opening of the Gallery marks another milestone for Ponte 16, offering the first-of-its-kind Asia exclusive experience for visitors. Open free to the public, the Gallery’s themed sections include: “Time Tunnel”, a journey through the most important moments of MJ’s music life; “Billie Jean” which features scenes from the Billie Jean music video; “Main Exhibition Hall”, a showcase of various precious collections; and Ponte 16 Gift Gallery, with special souvenirs of MJ. Among the exhibits are the “Zombie” suit worn by the mega star for his “Thriller” performance on MTV, crystal socks made by Bill Whitten and worn by MJ for the "Victory" Tour in 1984, the RIAA platinum record award for “Bad” signed by MJ, as well as various autographed records and photographs. Ponte 16 has also collected more private items of MJ including a portrait of Charlie Chaplin drawn by the nine-year-old Michael Jackson, who apparently was deeply influenced by the silent movie icon and comedian.

International pop diva Coco Lee and 13-year old singing sensation and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Shaheen Jafargholi will sing live at the Opening Ceremony. Coco Lee, the only Asian artist to have multiple top-three singles in the MTV Asia Hitlist, is a friend and admirer of Michael Jackson. Shaheen Jafargholi, the Welsh schoolboy who won a standing ovation from the audience at the finals of Britain’s Got Talent 2009 as he sang “Who’s Lovin’ You” made famous by the Jackson 5, had been invited to perform with Jackson in his “This Is It” series of London concerts originally scheduled for July 2009. Also joining the opening celebration will be pop singers such as Khalil Fong, Louis Cheung and the band Mr.

“We are pleased to bring the unique Michael Jackson Gallery to the millions of fans and tourists from around the world who can now come up close to iconic items associated with some of Michael Jackson’s most memorable moments,” said Dr. Ambrose So, Chairman of Ponte 16, Macau. “We hope the MJ Gallery at Ponte 16 will become an important tourist attraction, bringing more visitors to Macau’s historic Inner Harbour District and to Macau as a whole.”

The Grand Opening of the Gallery is scheduled for 7 pm on 1 February 2010 (Monday) at the Piazza of Ponte 16. The Gallery will be officially open to the public from 9 pm following the opening event. The first 300 visitors to the Opening Ceremony will be offered a limited edition MJ souvenir.
